Christian Chinese Conference

From Dec.21-24, Rebecca, Stephanie, Grace, and I (Hannah) were able to help with a large Christian Chinese conference in Kansas City. The Myers family asked us to help them with the children's program since they were short handed and were expecting about 200 kids. The Myers family travels throughout the US teaching thousands of children. They are an amazing family! Please check out their website for more information about their ministry.

 Myers.

Our theme for the program was "Christ is our King" (and as a child of God I am a princess in His Kingdom). So, we all dressed up as princesses and princes/knights. The Myers brought an entire castle set - very cool!

The people who organize this conference rent a large block of rooms at a hotel in KC. Walking around in the hotel, you felt like you were in China! Everyone was Chinese and the signs were all in Chinese with English below.

The food was all Chinese as well and served family style. I decided I really don't care for it and survived on oranges and plain rice for three days. :)

The Myers did all the teaching and did such an excellent job! They are very good at keeping the kids' attention and keeping them actively involved in the teaching.

Lady Stephanie was the third grader leader.

Lady Rebecca with her second graders.

Me with my 37 first graders. Grace was in charge of the fifth graders. (We each had 30-40 kids in our groups with 194 kids total from 1st-6th grade.)

Lady Grace counseling five little girls. We had 9 salvations and 14 assurances and quite a few more counseled for growth.

Review games!

Grace dressed up as the "Thought Messenger" who would try to sneak either good or bad thoughts into the castle of our heart. The kids loved catching the Thought Messenger and then deciding whether to let the thought into the castle or throw it away!

We had an amazing time! And hope to do it again next year! Thank you, Myers, for inviting us to help!

Thank you, Hannah, for putting up so many pictures, especially the one of Jerry. I got closer to him than any of the other kids as he came back to talk with me so often. Thank you for sharing about the Chinese retreat on your blog. It was such a blessing to have you ladies there helping us. You made everything run so smoothly and I'm praying that you'll be able to help again next year.
