All through Christmas Break and into this semester I've been frantically preparing for being an attorney for mock trial (I was a witness last year). We had a qualifying round on the second day of classes to make a traveling team. I made the team and was assigned as team captain. We had less than two weeks to prepare for the PHC tournament.
My team
We put in a lot of hours preparing individually and as a team. Then this past week, we had two practice rounds (keep in mind each round is 3 hours).

The PHC Invitational Tournament started on Friday!
Last minute prep before rounds.
Since mock trial tournaments require an even number of teams, my team was selected as the team who would compete in the PHC Tournament only if a team didn't show up (which has happened every year). We prepared as if we were going to compete and found out 30 minutes before the first round of the tournament that all the teams showed up, so we would not compete. Instead, we helped run the tab room and watched rounds.

The next stop for my team is Mock Trial Regionals! We have a ton of work to do in the next few weeks. It will be crazy! :)
