Yes, spring has officially come to Kansas. This post is mainly for my brother's benefit (T.J.). We were having a debate on whether Kansas or Virginia had more spring. T.J. just left Kansas last week, but spring really came overnight for us. :) Yes, Virginia might be a little further along, but not by much. :) Here are some pictures to help prove my point. :)
Look at how green the grass is! :)

This picture was taken during the time T.J. was home from college. You can kind of tell at how dead and brown everything is. I have to insert here that Andrew did an awesome job turning the garden.

Bethany - in front of our apricot tree. It is swarming in bees and even butterflies right now.
Flowers!!!!

I enjoy all the seasons of the year, but spring is probably the most exciting. I love seeing everything that was dead and brown come back to life! Everything turns bright and beautiful again! Aren't you glad God created seasons?
"And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years." ~ Genesis 1:14

Our flowers are "popping" up too!!! We have a whole bunch of crocuses, and a few of our earlier daffodils!
Still waiting for spring to come to Minnesota; though the snow is gone there could still be some more. I hope I get to see some peonies and lilacs this spring somewhere in our travels. (Those are my favorite flowers.)
So, I was going to do a post that would clearly demonstrate that Virginia has more spring, but, alas, I am flooded in papers and exams. A comment must suffice.
While I will admit that it appears that Spring has begun in KS, Virginia has it more. The proof: tons of flowers are in full bloom, leaves are established on trees and bushes, algae is forming in Lake Bob, PHC students have had their first water fight, a third of the student body studied outside this week to the Beach Boys, grounds crew has done a needed mow a couple times, etc.
Although I don't have time to take and post picture proof, Spring is definitely here more! ;)
Lol...last week most of us did our studying outside as well. Also, several neighbors have started mowing. I'm very frustrated because I didn't want to mow until at least mid-April. :P I had to have dad service the lawnmower so I could use it this week. :( Everyone here says it looks like May not March!!! You are probably right though that you have more spring. :)
Bryan - I am still kind of sad that we only got a total of 3 inches (maybe!) of snow all winter! Peonies are my favorite flower as well. They smell sooo good! I hope you can find some this spring.
T.J. - Everyone, except us, is mowing around here...it just doesn't seem right to be mowing in the middle of March!!!
WOW! your flowers are beautiful! OUrs have not prouted yet, but we are looking forward to seeing them pop up! Very nice pictures! Who took them?
- Eklund girls
Grace took the pictures of the flowers and the pictures of Andrew and Bethany.
