Last weekend was the Missionary Fair at our church. It was a very packed, but wonderful weekend.
Stephanie and I do most of the crafts for the craft table at the fair each year. This year the craft and white elephants brought in over $700! (Thanks, Katherine, for the trellis necklace idea! We sold 25 of them!) We also, as a last minute idea, decided to try and sell hedge-apples. We actually sold all of the two boxes we took!
Stephanie organized the children's program again this year. Each child received a passport that contained a page of questions for each missionary represented. If they filled out the passport correctly and got the pages stamped by the missionary, they got to pick a prize out of the prize box.
Pie is the featured dessert at every Missionary Fair. The pie ladies did a wonderful job of cutting, organizing, and selling pie. (Grace, Mrs. Lanier, and Hannah L.)
This year for the pie auction Dad was the pie announcer and Mr. Crainshaw was our official auctioneer. Wow! No one knew that Mr. Crainshaw has actually done autioneering before! What a surprise! When he started, everyone just sat in stunned silence for a few seconds as their jaw dropped to the floor. The pie auction brought in $385 dollars selling only 6 pies!
On Sunday after we cleaned up the church, we tied million dollar bill tracts onto the balloons and released them.
