Lake Freeman!
For the past thirty some years, my grandparent's lake cottage has been our yearly summer vacation where we relax and enjoy quality family time. Last summer, Gramma and Grampa sold the cottage to my aunt and uncle. They updated the cottage from the classic '70s look to a cute, fresh new look.
Grace, TJ, and Claire all came down for the weekend. The more the merrier!!! It was fun to see them all again and be together as a family again.
Grace and Bethany soaking in the sunshine with Caleb hibernating in his sweat shirt between them. Hmmm... is it warm or cold? It was actually quite cold.
Some of us did brave the frigid water for about fifteen minutes or so. It went something like this: three people jumped off the peer and immediately got back out. Shivered on the peer for a minute or two, then convinced three more people to jump in with them. They'd all get back on the peer, shiver some more, and convince three more people to get in. Then, we all got back on the peer and decided to was nuts to try to swim. We all ran back to the cottage, grabbed our towels, and dried off as fast as we could. :)
Since it was a bit chilly to play in the water, we played LOTS of games!
One morning JK, on the right of the bottom picture, drove to see everyone. He is in his 90s!! He enjoyed teaching Becca, Ike, and Sam how to play Bridge.
More games!!!
Relaxing on the peer with our feet dangling over the water, not in the water because it was little cold.
The lake was so still all weekend. I don't think I have ever seen it so smooth. It may have been little cool, but as always, it was worth the ten hour drive.
